It's impossible to describe how amazing the colors are--vibrant, exciting--not for the timid--but, of course, PUG Girls aren't the timid sort!! Really very, very beautiful--the yellow is so delicious--like a brand new taxicab, zooming down 5th Avenue. The Purple is gorgeous--more like a deep raspberry than grape or eggplant. "Stunning" doesn't even begin to describe it.
Of course, it fits great. I had a bad year and gained 30 lbs. I was feeling like no dress on earth would be pretty or flattering on me. I couldn't have been more wrong! Currently, I am 5'2, 235 lbs. I wear size 16 or 16W jeans. Bra size 42C. I bought the 3X and it fits well all over--boobs, sleeve diameter, etc. Not too snug. Comfortable. I really appreciate the way PUG always gives plenty of stretch in their fabrics. That's like gold for us Curvy Girls.
I'm finishing the outfit with dark purple shoes, deep raspberry tights, a yellow handbag & a deep raspberry hair flower. Go big or go home!
And I'm putting this out there--if you're buying this lovely party dress to wear to an occasion--treat yourself to a petticoat or crinoline. The full skirt of Birdie is just begging for one! I bought a dark green one--Wow! The crinoline transforms a beautiful dress into a truly epic, unforgettable dress. With a crinoline, you will be a legend!!
OK, here is one small complaint: I really feel--since this dress comes with a wide belt--it needs a couple of belt loops. I took it to a tailor to have that done. She is taking a little bit off the length of the sleeves and is making belt loops. I just felt if the belt wasn't anchored in place, I would spend the whole evening tugging at it. It wasn't expensive and I think it's a good idea. That's why I'm only giving 4 stars for "Fit & Comfort". Otherwise, this dress is 5-stars all the way.
