Overall this DVD exceeded my expectations and I would definitely recommend purchasing if you want to recreate the makeup looks you see on this site. Thanks pinupgirlclothing for providing beautiful clothes and showing us how to be modern pinups from head to toe.

And despite that I was so pleasantly surprised to see just how many different tutorials are in the DVD. Full hair and make up for different decades, all very different looks.
I found the tutorials easy to follow. Michelline does a great job of explaining her steps and why she does certain things.
As for value, I was not expecting to get a look from the 40's 50's 60's etc, so I definitely think I got more than my $30 worth! I just hope she puts another one out soon with more hair tutorials, like for her hairstyle on the cover.

My one disappointment is that she does not do miss Doris Mayday's hair or makeup, only eyebrows. Seeing Doris on the back cover and widely used as the promo photo for this dvd I was really surprised not to see it, and that was the only hair tutorial I really wanted to see! :(

Also, Micheline keeps the products and special techniques to a minimum, in my opinion. I sometimes get overwhelmed with what is sometimes recommended to do hairstyles, but Micheline accomplishes everything with a curling iron, bobby pins, hair and thermal spray, and some duckbill clips. For her style, she does use extensions, but I don't (yet) and things turn out fine. Finally, she is right- everything does speed up the more you do your hair and makeup.
I really hope she does another DVD....

- She does use models with different skin tones and facial features. I'm very fair with blue eyes and brown hair, but I'm training to be an esthetician (I am not a makeup artist though and typically wear pretty understated makeup) and I would like to know how to help women with different ethnicities than myself. Most of her stuff though is pretty universal and I do think the average woman would benefit greatly from this DVD.
- I like that she mentions the colors she uses but not the exact shade and brand name of the products. This allows me to think about what products I already do have that essentially match what she is using. I can't use silicone-based products, so it is nice to think about makeup from a color perspective rather than a brand-specific perspective.
- The room she is working in is just fun. :)
- I'm glad she showed things step by step, because this stuff does take time and I don't think a lot of people realize how long it can take sometimes.
This is a FABULOUS video for creating glamorous pin-up looks. I would, however, love it if Micheline would come out with a video for more daytime makeup looks with women wearing things like the Heidi dress or the capris and a Lauren top- something more casual. I think that beginners can recreate the looks she does in the DVD, but as Michelle (a previous reviewer mentioned) these looks are more time consuming than the average women is willing to make time for on a daily basis or simply too glamorous for a typical office job. That being said, I think you can still rock the look at an office job, it just needs to be a bit more understated and I think if Micheline did a DVD with this in mind, it would be incredible!!!! The stuff she presents can still be used on a day-to-day basis, it just has to be toned down and instead of trying to do the whole kit and caboodle, try to think about using a few of the techniques she shows. Maybe one day do a super simple eye, but use the tips she shows for creating the red lip.
Bottom line: don't wait over a year to purchase this like I did. It is quality work and I really, really, really enjoyed it a lot. There are a ton of things to learn and Micheline does a great job of making the looks doable and not intimidating. Just be willing to be patient at first and play around with it.

Micheline chooses different types models with different skin tones, hair types and lengths, and different eye shapes so you can see across the gamma of styles you could achieve, not to mention cementing in techniques . that can be used time and time again.
Only comment is that there could of been a low music track during some of the styles. Would love to see multiply DVDs from Micheline.
