Laura Byrnes Lesley-Ann Dress in White Tulle

Availability: In stock

$260.00
Inspired by the timeless poise and striking beauty of actress Lesley-Ann Brandt, the Lesley-Ann Dress from Laura Byrnes California is the embodiment of grace and classic elegance. Suggestive of the exquisitely-made and highly treasured party dresses of the 1950s but with clean modern lines and refined detailing for today's woman, this dress is a marvel of construction.

The full charmeuse-lined skirt offers a stretch Meredith satin base in solid white with layer upon layer of white tulle overlaid on top with a satin waistband to accentuate its 50s-inspired silhouette. The top, to put it mildly, is breathtaking. Meticulously cut, pleated, and sewn into a herringbone-shaped design, the tulle overlay across the lined satin bust transitions into a straight-pleated back enhanced by a satin border on the top following the lines of the tulle. Sitting slightly off-shoulder and extending to the back zip to create a drop v-back, the tulle and satin cap sleeves complete this dream of a dress. Thanks to its careful construction and enduring design, this dress will last a lifetime and beyond if cared for properly!

Please note, this style is very delicate due to the tulle construction, so take care to not snag it on anything and absolutely do not iron it (light steaming is okay, and please dry clean only)! Treat this dress like a vintage tulle prom dress and store in a garment bag to preserve the integrity of this style.

I ordered the 2XL and my measurements are 46-36-44 (5'10 and 200 lb). I found the dress to be so beautiful - I just fell in love with it. However, the torso was incredibly too short & although it fit my bust, the sleeves kept falling down. I ended up having to find safety pins & pin the sleeves to my bra strap.

Overall it was wonderfully made, but the proportions of the dress were a bit off. Still happy with my decision, though. I received several compliments & the pictures turned out great! (Posted on 10/1/2016)

I ordered this dress to act as a second wedding dress to wear during my reception. I ordered a medium and normally wear a size 8 dress. The dress is made from really high quality fabric with a fluffy tulle overlay. It was very flouncy on its own, so I would feel comfortable wearing it without a petticoat. In some light, the skirt of the dress appears to have a lilac sheen, but I think the effect is really lovely. The armpits are cut pretty high, so it may be difficult to raise my arms past my chest. The zipper could also be more substantial. I can see it breaking in the future. The chest is very roomy, so it would be the time to break out the push-up bra. I love the length of the dress and the overall quality feel. I would purchase it again, and likely will, in other colors. (Posted on 9/22/2016)
Sizing is bizarre!Review by Kolbie

This dress is totally weird. I really wanted to like it, and tried both the 2X and the XL before I gave up on it, but the measurements are just too disproportionate. In fact, I'd be interested to see an actual human woman who can fit into this dress well. First I ordered the 2X, thinking it would be a perfect fit since the waist is 36 in that size, which is my exact waist measurement. When I tried it on, there were at least three extra inches on the waist, and the bust and shoulders were ENORMOUS! I'm a 38D and normally don't have trouble filling out dresses, but this was just ridiculous. And the length between the top of the shoulder and the waist was laughably tall. I would've needed football pads for the shoulders to fit correctly. So I tried the XL. The waist was a bit small for me, but I was trying to size down in order to get the bust to fit. But again, bust and shoulders were HUGE! Only way this dress could possibly work for me is if I altered everything about it. No thanks! I also must be too short for this dress (I'm 5'5") because even if the bust wasn't too big, the shape just wasn't flattering on me. I looked like a little girl at her fifth birthday party. Also, don't be deceived by the warm, glowy pictures of the model—the dress color is icy, cold WHITE. Not a warm white or cream. Not my cup of tea at all, sending them both back. Still on the hunt for my wedding dress. (Posted on 6/27/2016)
