Only reason I detracted one star, is because the zipper is very difficult to open and close, while dress fits fine, and because there was an error in the stitching in the cleavage area (no big deal, my tailor will fix that, but still).
As far as sizing: I am 5'3'', around 125lbs, usually a size 6, and needed a Medium size. (Ordered the wrong size first, but that was because I had not paid attention to the sizing chart, which is spot on).
I love, love, love this dress, and will be ordering it in a different color as well.

I purchased a Small as I wanted it to be very form fitting. Although the fabric has plenty of "give," the issue I ran into was not enough length in the straps. The seam under my bust hit too high (I'm chesty, but not long waisted).
This is an issue I've noticed with some clothes geared to taller sizes. Hems are lengthened but waist to shoulder ratios & sleeve lengths are neglected. Taller women need length not only from the waist down, but from the waist UP as well!
If I had been smaller busted, it might not have been an issue. My tailor was able to solve the problem by removing the bows at the top of the shoulders, adding the necessary length to the straps with matching black velvet, then replacing the bows. The alterations were invisible and well worth it. Paired with a set of opera length black gloves put this dress into movie star over drive. I can tell you it was definitely a head turner!
Even knowing ahead of time I'll need to have the straps altered, I'm so tempted to buy this in red. And in olive. It's simply too gorgeous not to.

Can't wait to wear it to my nephew's wedding in October. They said to dress to impress and I think this meets that criteria!

This dress is beyond perfect! It smooths everything out so wonderfully with it's built in shapewear and the fact I didn't need to wear a bra took me to cloud 9! With a 14E bust (34E us sizing) a braless day isn't very common and is welcomed with open arms! I wore this for my school ball in New Zealand and was stared at by everyone, and was complimented on the dress all night! I even won best dressed!! I was also unsure about the length when I purchased due to other reviews, but the length was perfect to show off the toe part my shoes so I had no problems with this.
I ordered this on a Sunday and payed for express shipping to New Zealand and it came in 4 working days which I think is so amazing!
I am so in love with this dress and I 100% recommend it! I'm definitely excited for my next PUG piece, let's hope it's as glorious as my Gilda!

The dress arrived in 8 calendar days to Australia on an express posting. I could not have been happier. That was super service!
The material of the dress is so-so. A little on the cheap side, but I wasn't expecting huge things in that department due to the relatively modest cost.
I found that whilst the bengaline lining is good, in terms iving me that curvy shape, it's not as great as the other amazing dress I got from Pinup Girl Clothing. I am contemplating wearing a corset underneath to get that shape. In saying that though, I have had 2 kids in 2 years, and my once very flat, small waist is no more so there is also a bit of a figure issue there for me.
All in all, this isn't a bad dress, and would certain look lovely on someone with a small waist and reasonable cleavage. The dress is certainly suitable for a black tie event due to the length and small train.
With hair and makeup though, I'm sure I'll look a million bucks!

I am very pear shaped with a little gut, and I have a reasonable butt & thick thighs. In fact my thighs are almost wider than my hips. Mostly genetics, part crossfit. The shoulder straps were a bit short and the chest sat high, meaning it dug in my under arms a bit and I got a little of that unflattering underarm flab, but this is common for me in PUG dresses. I must have length in the shoulder area. Might get that altered. Also as it was so fitted I didn't need a bra and got good support & cleavage, wowza !
This stretched over my thighs & butt rather easily, I was so shocked. Its also got a proper non-flimsy zipper on it hallelujah, but did take some wiggling and some assistance to get it up. The fabric is thick and sexy feeling velvet & very forgiving. It looks really good when you're standing with your hands on your hips and one of your legs cocked forward. Try it on and you'll see what I mean. Like the sexy ladies in the pictures above, lol. I'll be posing like this all night ;) And you need to stand & sit up straight !
Everyone has raved about the built in under garments but I needed more support. Its just a form fitting slip as lining which has some flattening qualities. Luckily the fabric is thick so I'm wearing my fave suction pants and they don't show.
The one thing no one has mentioned in the reviews is that this dress takes a bit of guts to wear. You get stared at, like a lot. My BF says it super sexy. I'm not that comfortable in form fitting dresses so I found it all a bit full on. However, if you want to celebrate your bod, this is perfect dress to drape yourself in this and be prepared for an onslaught of wishful glances. However I needed a little liquid courage and friendly encouragement before stepping out. Good luck ladies, go forth & conquer !
