Since my first year at college (2010) , I have always admired these dresses -but could never afford them. These dresses are what I would wear every single day- if they were at an affordable price. Luckily I was given a gift code to purchase my first dress, last month! I had never been more excited for a dress in the mail. As soon as I put the dress on I immediately noticed a problem-these dresses are made for an hour glass figure, which I am not at all!

The brand says its couture for everybody, but its clearly not-and I say that with the highest respect because I really do love this site. I have even called customer service to see if there were any dresses that may fit me- but there was literally only two. I was told that people usually complain how they have to tailor their dresses because of this problem. I am usually a size medium (6 maybe 8) in dresses , but on this site it seems like I would have to buy a bigger size then get it tailored-that alone would cost SO MUCH money! And now to return they deduct money from that? This makes absolutely no sense, this was a gift for me and now more money is going to be taken out!

I understand that these pieces take time and that this is how people make a living, but these dresses are way to expensive for the average person to afford. If this is couture for everybody, why is it made for only an hour glass figure? Please, Pin Up Girl Clothing, introduce dresses that fit all women. I understand its impossible to please everyone, but this is a problem I see many other reviewers have commented on and even the customer service representative expressed it!

Again, not intended to be rude, just very disappointed because I really wanted to start buying more of these dresses, but now it seems like I would never be able to. (Posted on 3/18/2016)

I wore this and received nothing but compliments, even from complete strangers! This dress has people calling you a model. The fabric is very impressive. I'm 5'4 and 125 pounds and the small fit in every way except the shoulders, but the dress was beautiful enough for me not to mind too much. It accentuated my small waist. It hit my mid-calf. I wore a petticoat underneath and recommend anyone to do the same to really get the best look out of this dress. However this dress does have something weird going on with the dye? I saw a review about it before and thought nothing of it, but when I woke up the next morning from the party, my bed sheets were stained a little. To be honest this dress was so A1 I didn't even care lol. (Posted on 11/22/2015)

I wore this dress in my friend's wedding as a bridesmaid. This was perfect in that it was a very elegant, city, night time event.
The make of the dress is quality, beautiful fabric with just enough shine to look "special" but not "shiny" or cheap. There was a bit of stretch to the fabric as well, so it held comfortably.

I did have to have the dress altered in the shoulders, as they were gigantic on me. I am petite and slight through the shoulders and this kept slipping off fully to one side {I bought the "medium" to accommodate bust size}. Unless you have a good seamstress, I would not recommend this to petite women. The bust was generous and comfortable on me, but if I were smaller than a C cup it would have been too big there as well.
The sleeves, waist and length were fine, fit me a little long as I am shorter but it still looked nice. It is a beautiful "fit and flair" dress... but cut rather large on top for me. (Posted on 9/28/2015)

I. Love. This. Dress. But for me it is a little snug. With a 42 bust and a 34 waist, I was on the upper end for the XL, but I ordered that size anyway based off of previous PUG purchases. Once I got it zipped up, it looked gorgeous. If I'd have ordered up, it would have been too big in the bust...I'm broad around the ribcage but don't have a large cup size, so the next size would have been much too large.
This dress met all my expectations; love it! (Posted on 6/2/2015)

I am a huge fan of the wiggle dresses on this site and I decided I wanted to branch out with some of the swing dresses and I decided to start with this one and I love, love, love it! I bought this dress in a 2XL which is my standard size for all of my PUG dresses.

The dress fit me pretty much as I expected except the waistline comes down a bit lower than I had thought it would, it does slightly alter the way it hangs on me vs the models but not enough to bother me. I love the stretch and the sheen of the fabric and I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the dress was overall.

I wore my What Katie Did Morticia corset under the dress but I probably don't even need to wear a corset for it to look great. As with all of my PUG dresses, I love this dress! (Posted on 2/6/2015)

I ordered a 2X because all my other pinup girl clothing pieces are 2X and fit me perfectly. The dress is pictured with an a-line waist line and the hem stopping a little bit below the knee. I'm 5'2'', so getting things hemmed shorter is something I do to almost every dress I buy. But when this dress arrived it seemed like the whole thing had just be stretched out, the waist line was at my hips and the the hem went all the way down to the floor. It looked nothing like the picture because the proportions had been so incredibly stretched out! The alterations to make it look like the dress that was pictured would have been outrageous so I returned it immediatley. Might I suggest petite versions/ extra tall versions of some styles? Warning! The color rubs off! Quite easily, and a lot of it. I had color all
over my body and hands. Sure it will come off with some scrubbing in the shower, but it is a major inconvenience. The cut and feel of the dress is quite wonderful, the color rub off is the only downside I can think of. (Posted on 12/21/2014)

I bought both the black and the turquoise Ava Swing just knowing I was going to love them both and I was right! They are the perfect party season dress.
I am 40/32/40 and ordered the large. I probably could have sized down because the fabric has quite a lot of stretch to it and I like swing dresses to be tight fitting in the torso. I am quite short waisted myself and there was a bit of excess fabric in the bodice as usual but nothing I couldn't live with or couldn't be fixed with a couple of darts. It's me in this case - not the dress. The neckline is more modest than I expected but it means it's perfectly safe for work or weddings! (Quite different from the non swing Ava) It's still sexy enough to make an impact. The stretch taffeta has a lovely weight and stretch to it and a gorgeous shine - enough to be party without being over the top. And I loved the rustle! The dress is quite long on me (I am 5'2") and comes to mid calf - somewhat like the Grace. But looks perfect with a lovely pair of heels. I wore mine with an underbust steel boned corset and two long petticoats to complete the "new look" silhouette! Love this dress. I hope they bring it out in the red taffeta as well. So Many Compliments!Review by Lynn B

This is a perfect Christmas party dress! This is also my first PUG purchase.

Always had a curvy figure but now that I am older (50+) it is getting more difficult to find dresses that aren't more like shifts than shapely. I wish more PUG dresses had sleeves like these to disguise my loosening upper arm skin. I was a little concerned about the surplice top because my bra size is a 32G (or H) but the material has just a little stretch to it to make it all work perfectly. I ordered a size large and held my breath because my measurements were a smidge over the size chart but the dress fit like a dream. I have never had so many strangers come up to me to tell me how fantastic I look and ask where did I get this dress. My hubby, who prefers the wiggle dress look, could not stop telling me how pretty I looked. I did wear a Rago high waist girdle to smooth out the little bumps between bra & waist as well as a pink Malco Modes petticoat to poof out the skirt.

I will definitely purchase more dresses with confidence here. (Posted on 12/12/2014)
